FBFF: I love shoes

Hi lovely readers,
I wanted to welcome new readers and thank my old readers
for visiting, reading and commenting on Mode Plus.
As you may know, neither Dutch or English are my
mother languages. So for you to follow Mode Plus means
very much to me. A lot of time, energy goes into writing a post.
And you give me courage to keep stepping out
of my comfort zone every time again.

Today it is all about Le Shoe.
My first summer job was working Saturday's
in a posh shoe store. The kind of store that
helped customers put on their shoes.
The manager liked the way I looked, so I was hired.
She was this super thin, blond lady with 1950's glasses.
I always thought she looked like Mary Poppins but
slightly meaner. That was just her appearance though.
She was devoted to her job and determined
to learn me the ropes of shoe retail.
Till this day, I consider that job one of my most
exciting and funny experiences.
Brown clogs: faux pas or not?

What started out as a summer job, ended up in
years of fun in helping people find their perfect pair.
Oh yeah, another thing too:
my obsession with shoes.

What is your go-to pair of shoes?
Must be my wedges. Heels aren't my best friend.
My favorite pair wedges: Monki

What goes into your shoe buying decisions?
Never buy shoes that are too small.
That is the reason that I rarely buy shoes online.
I have to walk in the shoes.
Sometimes I will let an outfit lead in shoe buying.
I like that challenge to find THE shoe that completes
a look. I'm trilled when I find  a thrift
treasure that fits too.

The majority of the shoes in your closet are what color?
I have a lot of neutrals and browns.
A collection of my neutral/browns
Yes, my shoe closet is color coordinated.

When it comes to design shoes what are your favorite brands and
why?

I used to love Miu Miu and Prada. Working in the shoe store
got me discount from all their affiliated partners.
Those were glory days, you can  imagine.
At one point I had around 100 pairs.
Those days are over, I enjoy thrifting more than actual brands.
Even though I can't wear heels.
I can appreciate them.

If price wasn’t an issue, you’d own which shoe?
I guess some vintage YSL shoes.

I leave you with a fashion video about shoes by
Dutch designer/image stylist Dyanne Beekman.
Even if you don't understand Dutch,
give it a try, for the shoes :)
PS: I want those leopard print wedges pronto!
Nothing wrong with wanting them.

Have a wonderful weekend.
Pssst, check out my FTF post too!
